HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY

(HBOT)

Benefits

  • Increases oxygen delivery 10–20× normal blood levels → speeds tissue repair.

  • Reduces inflammation and swelling.

  • Enhances mitochondrial function and collagen formation.

  • Shown helpful for concussion, post-stroke, post-surgery healing, long COVID, depression, brain fog, open wounds and burns, Lyme, chronic pain, neuropathy, and athletic recovery.

Contraindications

  • Untreated pneumothorax (absolute contraindication).

  • Ear/sinus infection, severe COPD, recent thoracic surgery, uncontrolled fever, or cold/flu symptoms (cautions)

  • Caution with insulin, chemotherapy drugs, seizure disorders—consult prescriber.

 

Protocol

  • Typical pressure = 1.3–2.0 ATA.

  • Duration = 60–90 minutes per session.

  • Frequency = 3–5× per week for 2–8 weeks, depending on condition.

  • Hydrate well; equalize ears during descent; rest afterward.
